ERGO Estonia joined the initiative

One of the leading insurance companies in Estonia ERGO, employing 292 people, has joined the initiative Employers Against Domestic Abuse.

“We believe that, as an employer, we cannot remain on the sidelines when it comes to issues that affect our people’s sense of safety and well-being. Domestic abuse never remains confined within the walls of the home — its impact also reaches the workplace, teams, and people’s ability to cope in everyday life. As an insurance company, we work every day to prevent risks and create a sense of security. The same principle applies to the well-being of our own people,” said Helena Jõerand-Konsap, HR Manager at ERGO Estonia.

At ERGO, caring means more than providing a good working environment — it means being ready to notice, listen, and support people even when difficult situations extend beyond working life. “By joining the initiative, we want to create a more aware and supportive organisation where everyone knows they are not alone. We do not need to be specialists in this field, but we can be the ones who notice, care, and know how to guide people towards the right help. We believe this is how we create an environment where people feel safe and grow together,” she added.

The insurance sector has an important opportunity to contribute both to shaping the well-being of its own employees and, more broadly, to creating safer home lives among its clients. It is especially encouraging to see another pan-Baltic company join us — one whose impact and example extend beyond Estonia,” said Triin Adamson, Head of the Initiative.

Twenty two companies have joined the community, employing a total of more than 30,000 people. All employers are welcome to join the initiative, regardless of sector or organisational size. We invite companies, non-profit organisations, foundations and other legal entities who share our values and vision to take part. Individuals with an interest in the topic are also welcome to join.
