President Kaljulaid Foundation awarded full funding from the KÜSK NULA Seed Grant Programme

The President Kaljulaid Foundation’s initiative Employers Against Domestic Abuse has received full funding from the National Foundation for Civil Society (KÜSK) under the 2025 NULA (Wise Solutions) seed grant programme. The grant will support the development of new e-learning materials for employers as well as an impact assessment model for the Employers Against Domestic Abuse intervention, both designed to promote informed, systematic and effective action towards becoming a domestic abuse-aware organisation.

“KÜSK’s support gives us a significant boost to further develop practical tools for employers to prevent domestic abuse,” said Triin Adamson, head of the employer initiative. “Until now, employers in Estonia have lacked a structured approach and awareness to engage with this complex issue, but workplaces can play a key role in recognising and supporting those in need. This funding enables us to strengthen the role of employers and provide them with hands-on support.”

During the first six months of the initiative, 16 employers have joined the network, representing a combined workforce of over 24,000 people.

As part of the project, two new e-microlearning courses will be developed, focusing on recognising and supporting domestic abuse perpetrators in the workplace – a topic that has not yet been systematically addressed in Estonia. In addition, an evidence-based impact assessment model will be created to help employers evaluate the outcomes of their efforts and report them, for example, in ESG reports.

Both tools will be developed in collaboration with experts from Estonia and the United Kingdom, and will be piloted among seven of the initiative’s Beacon Members, including Selver, Enefit, North Estonia Medical Centre, SOL Baltics, Ensto Estonia, Betsson Group and Rush Street Interactive.

The knowledge and tools resulting from the project will be unique not only in Estonia but also internationally, providing a strong foundation for creating workplaces that are truly aware of and responsive to domestic abuse. Upon completion, all new materials will be added to the Employers Against Domestic Abuse toolbox – a comprehensive support resource accessible to all member organisations seeking to foster safer and more aware working environments.

The implementation of the project is supported by KÜSK with funding in the amount of €32,428.
